India vs Australia Test series is all set to begin from December 6 at Adelaide. Many past and present cricketers have predicted the outcome of the series. Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson feels that the upcoming series is the Team India’s best chance to win.
India has not won any test series in Australia yet and this will be their first chance to win test series down under. Team India is considered as the strong side this time and Australia is a depleted unit without their key players, Steve Smith and David Warner.
But Shane Watson believes that even without Steve Smith and David Warner, Team Australia has the quality to perform for victory. He feels that it will be challenging for India to take down Australia at their own home.
Shane Watson said that there is a massive home ground advantage for Australia and they have not lost too many times in the history in Australia. So while there is no doubt this is India’s best chance to win in Australia but it is still incredibly challenging to be able to win.
Earlier Virat Kohli and his men lost the Test series in South Africa and England but Team India’s bowling attack performed excellently in both the countries. But Watson feels that it will be challenging for Indian bowlers to play on Australian pitch.
Watson said, “Compared to South Africa, in Australia, depending upon the way wickets are prepared, it can get very very flat with the Kookaburra ball not doing much after the first 10 overs with the new ball.”
He said, “ It can be a challenge but India has got one of the strongest pace bowling lineups from a pace point of view. And some variety as well with Bumrah who provides a different angle and different speed. So it will be a good test for the Aussie batsmen,”
Shane Watson concluded that it is difficult to fill the places of Smith and Warner but Aussies still have the quality to be able to fill those holes and score runs that they need to win.
He said that their bowling attack is still very strong but so is India’s batting line up. Virat is going to play a big part and they have a lot of other incredible batsmen. So their batting stocks are pretty strong. So he thinks it’s going to be awesome Test series to be able to watch.
