Sachin Tendulkar congratulates Virat Kohli on his achievement


The second One Day International against West Indies was held at Visakhapatnam. India scored 321 runs at a loss of 6 wickets and West Indies also scored 321 runs at a loss of 7 wickets. The match ended in a thrilling tie but the match was very special for Virat Kohli.

Before the match, Virat needed 81 runs to complete his 10000 ODI Runs and to enter in the elite group. Virat scored 157 runs off 129 balls for India. Thereby completing his 10000 ODI Runs.

Not only this Virat also broke Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar’s record and became the fastest to 10000 ODI runs. Virat took 205 Innings to reach this landmark while Sachin Tendulkar achieved this feat in 259 innings.

Virat Kohli scored his 37th ODI century in his career and 5th ODI Century of 2018 till now. This is the second successive ODI century scored by Kohli.

Virat Kohli became the 13th overall and fifth Indian after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid to reach the elite club. MS Dhoni has also scored over 10000 ODI runs but only 9949 runs have been scored for India and 174 runs came for Asia XI.

Twitter was full of tweets praising Kohli. The God of Indian Cricket- Sachin Tendulkar congratulates Virat Kohli on achieving his 10000 ODI Runs. He congratulated him and welcomed him the 10k ODI Runs elite group.

Sachin Tendulkar tweeted that the intensity and consistency with which Kohli bats is just amazing. He congratulated Virat on achieving 10,000 runs in ODIs and said: “Keep the runs flowing”.

Suresh Raina tweeted, “Century pe century baar baar, run hue pure dus hazaar!”

Heartiest congratulations brother @imVkohli, Fastest player ever to complete 10,000 ODI runs! What a remarkable journey it’s been so far!”.

Virender Sehwag also tweeted that Virat Kohli has redefined what consistency means. Virat got his 9000 ODI run just 11 innings ago and got his 10000 today, to go with his 37th century and said: “Enjoy the phenomena #KingKohli”.
