Mohinder Amarnath has the same opinion as Sunil Gavaskar about MS Dhoni

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a name that has won everyone’s heart, not only in the cricketing world but also outside it. MS Dhoni Biography tells the story of Ranchi born cricketer. Recently, the 37-year old was dropped from T20I against West Indies and Australia.

MS Dhoni retired from test series long back and now he is a certainty only in ODI cricket. Instead of having time, Mahi did not play the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018 and now will face Australia National Cricket Team in the three-match ODI series without any match practice.

As per the trending cricket news, Former Indian all-rounder and selector Mohinder Amarnath think that MS Dhoni and other senior players must play domestic cricket to be eligible for selection.

Mohinder Amarnath said that every individual is different but one thing that he has always believed in is that if you want to play for India you have to play for your state as well. He thinks that the BCCI should change this policy altogether.

Amarnath told that a lot of senior players don’t play domestic cricket. In fact, Sunil Gavaskar had suggested the same in past. Other than Dhoni, another senior player Shikhar Dhawan who has been dropped from India’s test squad is not playing the ongoing Ranji Trophy.

Amarnath said that The BCCI should make it as an eligibility criterion. He said, “Not only a number of games, you should be playing regularly for your state if you are not playing for India and not only just before the India selection.”

He said that then only a selector can judge how good the guy is playing. Whatever a player has achieved is all in the past and what is important is his current form.

The former selector said that even if a player is playing one format than he should be playing all formats at least in domestic cricket to be considered for selection.
