Some unknown facts about the Best Batsman in the World - Virat Kohli

Former Indian Captain MS Dhoni has been seen on many occasions calling Virat Kohli with his nickname Cheeku from behind the stumps on the field. But it is not Dhoni who gave him this nickname.

Virat’s state coach Ajit Chaudhary when he joined Delhi Ranji team called him Cheeku because of the long ears. Virat’s face during teenage after cutting his hair very short resembles a comic character called Cheeku who was the rabbit in India’s comic named “Champak”.

Virat Kohli’s father passed away in 2006 when he was playing his first Ranji match against Karnataka but the strong man Kohli batted on the next day and scored 90 runs. His coach convinced him to play the next day by saying that his father’s dream was to see Virat as a big cricketer.

Virat didn't complete his schooling as he couldn't complete his 12th because he was playing for under 19 at that time.

Virat Kohli once revealed that his first crush was Karisma Kapoor. Later, Virat Kohli married his love Anushka Sharma and their marriage photographs were sold in auction and money from that was collected from the auction was given in a charity.

Virat Kohli has a total of 4 tattoos on his body and he believes it brings him good luck. His favourite food is Mutton biryani and kheer especially when it's cooked by his mother but recently Virat Kohli turned vegan like his better half Anushka.

Virat for the first time ever got chance to play on Tendulkar's place when Sachin Tendulkar got injured on the Sri Lanka tour but he ended up scoring 12 runs in that match. As time passed, he improved his performance and he is considered as the best batsman in the world by many famous cricketing legends.
