Famous Cricketers who may go unsold in the upcoming IPL Auction 2019

The Indian Premier League player auction is set to take place on December 18. The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League will be held around 29 March 2019. All the franchises of IPL had submitted their player retentions and releases to BCCI on November 15.

Some star players like India’s Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir might see their IPL career come to an end. Also New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum, Australian cricketer Mitchell Johnson and Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami may go unsold in the IPL auction 2019.

All-rounder Yuvraj Singh was dropped from Kings XI Punjab’s in the previous IPL. He has played only seven List A matches since May and he managed just 65 runs in 8 matches at an average of 10.83. The 36-year-old has scored just one half-century for Punjab.

India’s batsman Gautam Gambhir led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles. He was also a part of a terrible season with Delhi Daredevils last year as he moved to Delhi Daredevils to help the team better their record, but unfortunately, he failed miserably. The skipper decided to move out from the team for the rest of the season after recording just one win in six matches.

New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum was released by the Royal Challengers Bangalore, he played only six matches in the last IPL season. He scored 127 runs at an average of 21.16. He in his last Afghanistan Premier League T20 tournament notched just 158 runs at an average of 19.75 in eight matches.

Australian Mitchell Johnson has a bad IPL with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last season. He picked up two wickets in six matches at a miserable average of 108. He recorded an economy rate of 10.28. He also has not played a professional match since the IPL. So there are chances that he might go unsold in the upcoming IPL auction.

Fast Bowler Mohammed Shami last year IPL with Delhi Daredevils was not great. He picked up only four wickets in three matches at an average of 48. He conceded 10.40 runs per over in the competition. He played his last T20I in July 2017.

So there is a valid reason why there five players may remain unsold in the upcoming IPL Auction 2019. Cricadiumprovides every cricket update and will also provide with the most accurate IPL T20 match prediction.
