Base Price that some Australian Cricketers can set for themselves in IPL Auction 2019

The IPL Auction 2019 is all set to take place on December 18 in Jaipur. Franchises have already submitted their list of players retained and released from their squad but this it is high time that franchises should determine the player requirements of their squads.

In an IPL Auction, the base prices are set by the players themselves. The maximum base price which a player can set for himself is 2 crores and the minimum base price is 20 lakhs.

In IPL 12, the franchises are allowed to spend a maximum of 82 crores on developing a squad. The ideal base price that some great Australian players can set for themselves is- Glenn Maxwell (2 crores), Aaron Finch (2 crores) and Mitchell Starc (1 crore). While New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum can set his base price as 1.5 crores.

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell was released by the Delhi Daredevils following a bad season in 2018. Maxwell is one of the finest players who can fetch a big amount in the auction. He is a regular in T20 international cricket for Australia and is in good form. He is considered as a big destroyer when he is at his best form in T20 cricket. So, Maxwell can afford to keep his base price at the highest 2 crores and could even get a big amount.

Aaron Finch, just like his fellow Maxwell is one of the most destructive strikers in the shortest format of the game. He has the highest individual score at an international level in T20 cricket. He was shockingly released by the Kings XI Punjab after his last season's performance. He is a huge name in the world of T20 cricket and so his ideal base price of 2 crores is very apt.

Australia’s Mitchell Starc is now ready to come back to the IPL after missing three seasons due to injuries. He is the premier fast bowlers in the world. But Starc is unlikely to attract profitable bids because of his damage in the past. So, his base price of 1 crore is apt and it is hard that IPL teams will exceed his base price.

Moreover, New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum can set his base price as 1.5 crores. Ahead of IPL 2019, the Royal Challengers Bangalore vid him farewell. He is the most destructive opener in T20 cricket. Though he is a retired international player he plays almost every T20 league across the world, so he can attract a lot of bids. His base price of 1.5 crores is fair.
