A shocking Revelation: An official Stopped MS Dhoni From Captaining in Asia Cup 2018

The former Indian women skipper Mithali Raj was being dropped in one of the crucial matches of the World cup quite controversially. The board administrators seemed to interfere in the team selection process.

Mithali Raj wrote a letter to the BCCI regarding a treatment given to her in return of all the services she has given to the nation.

Mithali Raj wrote a harsh letter to the BCCI in which she accused coach Ramesh Powar of 'humiliating' her and Committee of Administrators member Diana Edulji of 'using her position against her'. After her explosive letter, Dhoni’s case has complicated the situation even more.

The Men in blue clinched the Asia Cup 2018 title and have established themselves as the champions. A shocking fact has come to the limelight after months of the tournament’s completion.

In one of the super four matches between India and Afghanistan, MS Dhoni captained Team India. Rohit Sharma was appointed as the captain for the Aisa Cup in the absence of the regular Captain Virat Kohli while Shikhar Dhawan was appointed as the vice-captain.

When both Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan deciding to opt out of the match against Afghanistan to take rest, the responsibility to lead fell on the senior most and experienced player MS Dhoni.

However, recent reports have revealed that an official Stopped MS Dhoni From Captaining in Asia Cup 2018. Here is what the source said to Times of India.

Source revealed, "In the match against Afghanistan, Rohit Sharma rested himself and the Indian team management decided to hand over the captaincy to MS Dhoni because of his seniority and also as a special gesture. A senior BCCI administrator, however, kept insisting that appointing MS would’ve been a regressive step and said the next senior most cricketer should lead the side. So, all this talk about outsiders not interfering is absolute nonsense. The administrator refused to give MS the captaincy which was very weird given his experience.”

The report also mentioned that the BCCI administrator also intervened in team matters and ensured that a Grade C cricketer was handed a Grade B contract.
